Caine Blackhand is a scion of House Blackhand, a once proud noble family that’s fallen upon hard times these days. After their holdings were sacked and burnt by an orcish raid, he swore to rebuild the house and restore it to its former glory. He’s been wandering, sometimes as a merchant and sometimes as a sell-sword, seeking to renew House Blackhand.

Caine is a follower of the Raven Queen. While he stumbles over the finer points of her theology (specifically about fate, as it relates to his family’s rise and fall), he’s drawn to the pragmatic and cynical teachings of her faith.
